Dear friends and colleagues,

In our upcoming Cultural Circle Meeting, we would like to continue the journey we began in our previous meeting: What started as an exploration of the cultural experience and understanding of BIRTH, finally led us to bring into focus both birth and death.

So, consequently, our next meeting is entitled:

Voices of Fathers, Echoes of Mothers – From Being Parented to Becoming a Parent

  • Media, values, traditions—who is learning from whom nowadays?
  • What image do I have of my father/mother today?
  • What roles did fathers, mothers, and families play in our own childhoods (which may lie very different distances behind us), and what roles do they, do we play now? What do these shifts tell us about changing functions, identities, and relationships?

We will invite participants to reflect on questions such as:

  • What did I receive from my mother? What from my father? – and what did I choose not to take on?
  • What do I carry forward as a father, as a mother, and what do I (shaped by culture, experience, or …?) transform?
  • Which values, wounds, strengths, and hopes live on through me?

Framed by Expressive Art Elements, we will reflect and share our own experiences, learn about the transculturally “other” and extend our transcultural perspective.

We warmly invite you to join us on

5 July, 04:00–06:00 CEST
