Dear Friends & Colleagues,

Please give generously to raise funds. Money raised by IAGP is put towards important projects, which help professionals working with groups throughout the world to network and use their skills, and to create a better more tolerant world.

In honor of our colleague, Ali Nawara, a scholarship fund has been established to assist with IAGP conference expenses for young professionals. I commend this fund to you. Your donation will be warmly received.

Thank you,

IAGP.

Ali Nawara Memorial Fund

Ali Nawara Memorial Fund has been created by the Board of directors of IAGP to honor his name. Ali graduated from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He was always in support and assistance for all groups he worked with. He added fun, energy, and compassion to all he was involved with. Believing in simplicity and the ability to share ground were his signature style.

Ali Nawara was the son of our dear colleague and friend Mona Rakhawy. Mona has been very active in many roles at IAGP. In the past few years, she was a member of the Board of Directors of IAGP, Mona was also the Co-Chair of the Congress in Pescara, in addition to her work as co-chair on the Education Committee. She has devoted much time and energy in various functions, while also serving at the Rakhawy Institute in Cairo which was founded by her father, the renowned psychiatrist Yahia Rakhawy.

The purpose of the fund will be the ongoing and dedicated financial support for scholarships to students and young professionals from everywhere, helping them to attend IAGP conferences and the tri-annual congresses.

The criteria for application for this grant are as follows:

  • Applicants should be willing to do a project in their country (presentation, workshop, webinar or group work) and deliver in their country what they receive from the IAGP conference.
  • After receiving all the applications, an IAGP representative will be designated to lead a meeting with all the applicants to give information and to answer the questions. After the meeting, applicants are expected to send their projects. When the scholars have been chosen, there will be meetings during the conference and after the conference about their projects.
  • A mentor from IAGP will supervise scholarship recipients about how to create their project and do presentations. It is a continuous project to be applied for all IAGP conferences. To donate to the Fund in Ali´s memory please see the section below.
