IAGP WEBINAR Oh No! Christmas Again! Transforming Celebration Times from Chore to Joy A Role Cascade activity. – Experiential Webinar By Dr. Carlos Raimundo This webinar builds on our previous session, “Changing Those Who’re a Drain into a Gain,” where we used a Maintenance and Frequency template to map relationships. I will soon create a short video summarising the key points from Webinar 1. However, participants can benefit from this webinar without needing to view the first session. In this session, we’ll focus especially on relational topics people may face during Christmas and other family events. This experiential webinar will use the Active Role Theory, developed by the presenter and based on the work of Moreno and Max Clayton (an Australian and New Zealand psychodrama pioneer). Participants will: Define the concept of role theory, categorising roles into Constructive, Fragmented, and Ambivalent. Identify your own roles and the roles played by others. Explore Buber’s “I and Thou” concept and relate it to relationship roles. Work on a personal, relational dynamic using the Role Cascade process to address relationships that often result in dysfunctional experiences. Identify the Point of Power as a moment to gain agency in the roles we play in relationships. We’ll aim to focus on one protagonist to apply the process. Participants will also learn how to apply this process in their practice. Join us for an engaging experience designed to help us live life better. Feel free to invite others IAGP members or not.
