Invitation to the IAGP General Assembly, 17 December 2024 – SAVE THE DATE

Dear IAGP Members,
We are pleased to invite you to attend this online General Assembly of the International Association of Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes (IAGP) on Tuesday 17 December (time to be announced shortly). Please save this date in your calendar; your presence is most needed.

This General Assembly will be complemented by a separate online voting for the formal decisions which must be taken. For those who cannot attend it live we will also record the General Assembly.

This General Assembly is an essential milestone for our association, ensuring compliance with Swiss law and securing our tax exemption status, which is critical for our organisation’s financial health.

Why is this meeting important?

  • Legal obligations under Swiss law require us to host annual General Assemblies and submit their reports for tax exemption purpose: the report of this upcoming General Assembly must be submitted by the end of 2024.
  • This marks a shift from the tradition of General Assemblies every three years, aligning us with more rigorous compliance standards.
  • For the same compliance reason, we will hold the next online annual General Assembly in March 2025, to approve the accounts and reports of the Oct 2023-Sept 2024 fiscal year, and finally catch up with backlog.

Agenda Highlights for this General Assembly

  • Presentation and approval of the financial accounts of the year (Oct 2022 – Sep 2023);
  • Presentation and approval of the Auditor’s report;
  • Presentation and approval of the IAGP activity report;
  • Honorary discharge of the Board at the end of fiscal year 2022-2023;
  • Explanation and approval of the revised Bylaws’ article about the Auditor;
  • Introduction and election of IAGP’s new professional Swiss Auditor;
  • Explanation and approval of the Bylaws’ short version in German, to be registered in Switzerland.

How to Participate

  • The General Assembly will be conducted online, ensuring accessibility for our global members.
  • Decision points will be finalised through an online voting process, which will remain open for several days following the online General Assembly.

We encourage all members to participate in this critical meeting, as your voice and vote are vital for shaping the future of our Association.

Further details regarding the exact hour and voting instructions will follow shortly.

We look forward to your participation and thank you for your valuable contribution to IAGP’s ongoing mission.

Warm regards,

Signed by
