A Workshop on Sociometry, In Action, Online

May 25, 2025 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm UTC

A Workshop on Sociometry, In Action, Online –

In this two-hour workshop, I will demonstrate how I use sociometry to get people to connect with each other, and to warm them up to work in action. It will not be a lecture, but it will be both experiential and interactive, and will address the needs of the group in the here-and-now. Arcane terms, such as tele and group energy will be pointed out. Similarly, if there is a chance to move the narrative into action, this will be demonstrated, not just talked about. While adapting this work to the screen has similarities to working in-person, the great advantage of working remotely is that people can join from anywhere with WiFi. This is especially valuable for those of us who work internationally.

Objectives:
Participants in this workshop will learn:
1. Group building techniques based on sociometry
2. Deepening the affect, through doubling and role-reversal
3. Transforming the narrative from talk to action
4. Avoiding fruitless political and divisive conversations

This Workshop  is free for IAGP members. Non-members are asked to donate as much as they can for the scholarship fund, to help students and young professionals in need attend the Congress in Sapporo. To do so, please go to www.iagp.com/donate
Please encourage your friends and colleagues who are not members of IAGP to join us, and to donate.
Handouts and theoretical references will be sent to attendees who are interested in further reading on this subject.
This workshop is open to ALL.
