Why online webinars and workshops?

The Webinar Committee is inviting you to submit new ideas for IAGP online webinars and workshops. These are the perfect media to explore and share scientific and methodological knowledge with fellow experts across the many fields of expertise within the IAGP.

To educate, inform and to bridge
Education and exchanging information and knowledge are significant tasks of the IAGP. Online webinars and workshops are important tools for disseminating the rich experiences and expertise within IAGP, learning from each other, and maybe even reaching out to new audiences. They also bridge the physical distances between our members, who live scattered around the world. Online webinars and workshops, therefore, not only bring us cognitively but also emotionally closer together.

We facilitate your ideas
The webinar committee facilitates this by helping you set up, prepare, and present your ideas for online webinars and workshops. We not only support you with all the technical issues around presenting online via Zoom, but we also help you improve the quality of your broadcast, for instance, by offering you useful scripts and adding more focus to it. In this, we are working closely together with the Education Committee.

Empowering interconnections
The Webinar Committee is one of the IAGP committees. According to the Policies and Procedures Manual, the purpose is to promote dialogue and exchange ideas, knowledge, and experiences within and outside IAGP. We believe this empowers the interconnections between members and non-members, contributing to IAGP’s mission and its ambition to become a global leader in advancing group psychotherapy and group processes.

Crossing Bridges: Reflections on Growth, Strategy, and Opportunity

Let me start my New Year’s message with a well-known marketing tool: the SWOT matrix. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). While often associated with marketing, it is a universal framework for gaining a clear understanding of any project.

After many years of working as a Pharma Brand Manager, the SWOT mindset has become an essential lens for me. It helps navigate simple but difficult questions: Where are we today, and where do we want to be tomorrow? The space between these two questions is the strategy that keeps us moving forward.

Like a mirror, SWOT helps us look inside at our Strengths and Weaknesses; like a window, it helps us look outside for a clear vision of Opportunities and Threats. Applying this mindset to IAGP, together with my colleagues from the Board (I am privileged to work with such a professional and friendly team), it became clear that while our “Threats” box remains almost empty, the “Opportunities” are huge, allowing us to grow and diversify across the globe.

To grow is a two-way process – IAGP offers valuable opportunities for professionals to share rich experience and sharpen expertise, whilst young professionals bring fresh energy and become part of a community with a deep heritage and a reliable presence.

On a personal note, I would like to share that joining IAGP has become a life-changing step for me. Being at the crossroads between my current profession and my desire to move forward into group psychotherapy and group processes – to become an organizational consultant – I now find myself integrating the skills and competencies it takes in order to help organizations and employees establish a healthy work environment.

At the brink of the New Year, I would like to give my thanks to those who advised me to become a member of IAGP, which also led to my election as a Board Member and Chair of the Webinar Committee.

Our committee continues its mission to serve as a bridge for meaningful connections, shared learning, and professional growth. We look forward to receiving your proposals and facilitating your ideas!
