Eva Fahlstrom Borg, Chair

Word from the Chair

Dear Colleagues,

The Couple and Family Therapy Section seeks to provide a supportive and inclusive forum for professionals engaged in work with couples and families across the globe. Its central aim is to foster meaningful communication among practitioners by creating opportunities to exchange clinical experiences, share professional knowledge, and reflect together on the many dimensions of family life and therapy.

Within this space, members can discuss theoretical developments, clinical practices, and current challenges that arise in working with diverse family systems. At the same time, the section encourages dialogue on the broader social and cultural contexts that shape family relationships and influence therapeutic processes. By promoting collaboration and mutual learning, the section aspires to enrich professional practice and deepen understanding of family dynamics.

Ultimately, it provides a platform where therapists can support one another, broaden their perspectives, and strengthen the global community of family therapy.

Monthly Updates – Nov. 2025

Our new Chair for Couple and Family Therapy, Eva Fahlström Borg, invited me to be on the committee of the section. We had some good and energetic meetings with the other committee member, former President of IAGP, Kate Tauvon and with one of the consultants for the section, former Chair of Couple and Family Therapy, Dr. Carlos Raimundo. There I was assigned to be the creator and Coordinator of a subsection for working in groups with children and  adolescence.

I am a psychiatrist and psychotherapist for children and adolescent and psychodramatherapist for children and adolescents. I am a recognized international trainer and supervisor (IAGP).

With fresh energy and some highly motivated colleagues – with different theoretical  backgrounds – we restarted to create a core group, in order to develop that subsection as a durable and sustainable network.

As a first step we are eager to exchange our methodologies of group work with youth. Hopefully attracting more specialists working in that field we want to develop a task force in order to make the work with this clientele more visible, share the knowledge within the broader IAGP Community and attract new members interested in that field.

For further information, suggestions or feedback, please send Email to Dr. med.

The MacKays – three different perspectives on a family history case study

During this online IAGP Zoom webinar, Carlos Raimundo presented a Psychodramatic-Sociometric approach to a real-life case history of the MacKay family. After that, two other panelists, Roberta Mineo and Simon McLellan, commented from their distinct perspectives (Groupanalytic & Organisational) on the same case study, followed by a discussion with the online audience.
