Catherine Mela (Greece) is a Neurologist, Medical Doctor with specification on Basic Research (Neuro-immune-oncology) and Brain Plasticity. She is a Psychotherapist, Group-Analyst, Trainer, Supervisor and Clinical Researcher. She is the IAGP (*1) Vice President, Founder and Chair of the IAGP Research Committee. She is also member of the Cambridge Editorial Board.
On a clinical and research basis, she is working as Neurologist, Individual and Group Analyst/Psychotherapist with cancer, neurologic and psychosomatic patients.
She is staff member of the Summer Academy of Granada, Past Secretary of IOGAP, Melbourne (*2). She is a founding member of the Hellenic Organization of Psychotherapy and Education in Group Analyis (HOPE in GA, Athens, Greece).
She has conducted Median and Large Groups and presented key-note lectures in many Universities and Organizations worldwide and she is author of many scientific articles in local and international journals and books.
Catherina Mela has organized and chaired the 1st IAGP International Research Congress, on “Chronic Stress” ( Athens ,Greece, 2014) and the 2nd IAGP International Research Congress on “Trauma and Crisis” (Thessaloniki, Greece,14-17 June,2019).
