SUMMARY:The Group Analytic Large Group – A Ritual or an Arena for Meaningful Dialogue? What is the purpose of the Large Group\, and how to achieve it?
DESCRIPTION:Traditionally\, at group analytic meetings\, symposia and conferences the daily Large Group (LG) has been an integral part of the program. While the small group to some extent reflects the family\, dealing  with the dynamic unconscious of the individual and the group\, the social unconscious in LGs pertains to wider mostly unconscious aspects of society\, as carried by the individuals within it. \nThus\, the social unconscious emerges through stories\, myths\, fantasies\, dreams\, anxieties and metaphors shared by individuals\, which can be understood\, through the skilled facilitation of the group conductor\, as expressions of something beyond a specific person or group\, signalling unconscious layers of the society\, culture and organization of which we are a part. In this workshop we will discuss the group analytic large group in different contexts\, the different purposes of the large groups and how to achieve them\, and not least\, the role of the conductor to reach these goals. \nSee the flyer here: \nGASi Autumn Workshop 2025 Large Groups 15.10 \nRegistration link: https://groupanalyticsociety.co.uk/gasi-49th-winter-workshop/ \n

SUMMARY:IAGP WORKSHOP Stimulating Innate Biological Algorithms for Life Strategies and a Good Life
DESCRIPTION:IAGP WORKSHOP\nStimulating Innate Biological Algorithms for Life Strategies and a Good Life\n\nThe therapist’s role is not to solve problems but to guide the client—or seeker—to discover their own resources and become a catalyst for change. This is especially vital when old behaviours are no longer useful or when new challenges require fresh responses.\nThis workshop\, part of an ongoing neuroscience research project\, is based on the belief that we all carry innate biological resources—natural algorithms—that can help us face even the most difficult situations. Participants will explore a visualisation and simulation model designed to stimulate these internal mechanisms\, offering practical applications for therapy\, education\, and personal growth.\nFocus of the Process\nMirror Neurons and Motor Resonance Systems: Foundation of empathy\, social learning\, and relational intelligence.\nThe Precuneus: The brain’s “inner compass” for self-representation\, perspective-taking\, and inner navigation.\nFrontal Lobe: Supporting bottom-up communication for adaptive and well-informed decision-making.\nLearning Objectives\nBy the end of this workshop\, participants will be able to:\nUnderstand the role of mirror neurons and the precuneus in empathy\, decision-making\, and adaptive behaviour.\nDifferentiate between artificial algorithms and innate biological processes.\nApply experiential techniques to stimulate innate systems for spontaneity\, creativity\, and relational intelligence. \nDevelop strategies that promote wellbeing\, meaning\, and adaptive living across personal and professional contexts.\nTarget Audience\nNeuroscientists\, psychotherapists\, counsellors\, coaches\, AI researchers\, educators\, leadership trainers\, social innovators\, and graduate students in psychology\, psychiatry\, neuroscience\, and philosophy.\nOutcomes\nParticipants will gain a deeper understanding of how biological algorithms can be activated and strengthened\, along with practical tools adaptable to different therapeutic schools of thought and professional settings. \nSATURDAY 15TH NOVEMBER – 10 AM CET\nRegistration link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/5eZsbWMCRUS0NgbnCnJEAw \n\nAbout Dr Carlos Raimundo\nDr Carlos is an Argentinean-born medical doctor\, psychiatrist\, and psychodramatist who has called Australia home since 1986. He is an adjunct researcher with Charles Sturt University and the Active Learning Centre in Sydney. He’s the author of Realtionship Capital\, Prentice Hall and Feelings Allowed\, Balboa Press.\nHis work centres on neuroscience\, enhancing insight and behavioural change through the lens of the precuneus—the brain’s internal compass. Dr Carlos is the creator of the Play of Life\, a 3D behavioural simulation tool\, and RCompass\, a digital sociometry application.\nHe has received several prestigious awards from the ASGPP\, including the Innovators Award (2002)\, the David Kipper Award (2024)\, and the Zerka Moreno Award (2025). His writing has appeared in academic journals and the upcoming IAGP publication “The One Thing That Separates Us: Responding to Diversity—A Neuro-Correlate Approximation.”\nCarlos is a member of the IAGP Board\, a former Executive Council Member of the ASGPP\, chairing the International Section.
