SUMMARY:IAGP WEBINAR “Artistic Intelligence as an extension of Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences: Expressions in Music\, Theatre\, and Visual Arts”
DESCRIPTION:IAGP WEBINAR “Artistic Intelligence as an extension of Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences: Expressions in Music\, Theatre\, and Visual Arts” \nby Anastasia Diotima Golema\nHoward Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences (1983) identifies nine distinct forms of intelligence: linguistic\, logical-mathematical\, musical\, spatial\, bodily-kinesthetic\, interpersonal\, intrapersonal\, naturalistic\, and existential (Gardner\, 1999). Each represents a unique way of understanding and interacting with the world. \nAlthough Artistic Intelligence is not named among these\, it is inherently connected to several of them. Musical intelligence enables individuals to perceive\, create\, and appreciate sounds\, rhythms\, and melodies. Spatial intelligence supports visual creativity through media such as painting\, sculpture\, and photography. Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence allows expression through movement\, particularly in performing arts like dance and theatre. Interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligences involve emotional awareness—of oneself and others—facilitating expressive depth in artistic work. Existential intelligence relates to philosophical inquiry and reflection on the human condition\, often central themes in art (Gardner\, 2006). \nArtistic Intelligence can therefore be understood as a synthesis of multiple intelligences\, enabling the creation and interpretation of art across diverse forms. It is not limited to technical skill but includes emotional literacy\, imagination\, collaboration\, and adaptability—essential qualities for modern life.\nIn a world that increasingly values creativity and emotional resilience\, developing Artistic Intelligence becomes a means not only of self-expression but of survival\, connection\, and transformation. It allows individuals to process experience\, communicate meaning\, and engage with others in profound ways. As such\, it plays a vital role in education\, therapy\, and community life\, offering a language beyond words—one that speaks to the heart\, the body\, and the shared human experience.\nGardner\, H. (1999). Intelligence Reframed: Multiple Intelligences for the 21st Century. New York: Basic Books.\nGardner\, H. (2006). Multiple Intelligences: New Horizons in Theory and Practice. SUMMARY:A Workshop on Sociometry\, In Action\, Online
DESCRIPTION:A Workshop on Sociometry\, In Action\, Online –  \nIn this two-hour workshop\, I will demonstrate how I use sociometry to get people to connect with each other\, and to warm them up to work in action. It will not be a lecture\, but it will be both experiential and interactive\, and will address the needs of the group in the here-and-now. Arcane terms\, such as tele and group energy will be pointed out. Similarly\, if there is a chance to move the narrative into action\, this will be demonstrated\, not just talked about. While adapting this work to the screen has similarities to working in-person\, the great advantage of working remotely is that people can join from anywhere with WiFi. This is especially valuable for those of us who work internationally. \nObjectives:\nParticipants in this workshop will learn:\n1. Group building techniques based on sociometry\n2. Deepening the affect\, through doubling and role-reversal\n3. Transforming the narrative from talk to action\n4. Avoiding fruitless political and divisive conversations \nThis Workshop  is free for IAGP members. Non-members are asked to donate as much as they can for the scholarship fund\, to help students and young professionals in need attend the Congress in Sapporo. To do so\, please go to www.iagp.com/donate\nPlease encourage your friends and colleagues who are not members of IAGP to join us\, and to donate.\nHandouts and theoretical references will be sent to attendees who are interested in further reading on this subject.\nThis workshop is open to ALL. \nMAY 25th 4 to 6 PM- CEST \nRegistration link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/P3gB3-awTeWMpTsZlYnQUA \nSpeaker\nJacob Gershoni\, LCSW\, CGP\, TEP Co-Director of Psychodrama Training at the New York Sociometric Institute\, and private practice. SUMMARY:IAGP WEBINAR - Dance movement and emotions
DESCRIPTION:IAGP WEBINAR – Dance movement and emotions\nBy Anna Albutashvili \nThe body is not only the vessel of experience\, but also the mirror of the psyche. As Mary Whitehouse stated\, “Movement is the personality made visible” (Whitehouse\, 1979). In Dance Movement Therapy (DMT)\, the body becomes a means of accessing and transforming unconscious material. Inspired by Jung’s notion of the Self as the totality of conscious and unconscious elements (Jung\, 1966)\, authentic movement offers a path toward integration. When movement arises spontaneously from within\, bypassing conscious control\, it reveals emotional truths that words often cannot reach.\nDistortions\, tensions\, and physical blocks reflect unresolved psychological material (Adler\, 1999). By moving the body\, we engage the psyche—bringing light to what was repressed and offering space for emotional release. Movement becomes a bridge between conscious and unconscious\, allowing emotions to surface and be processed somatically (Levy\, 2005).\nIn this presentation\, we will explore how authentic dance movement can melt psychological resistance and open a dialogue with the Self. Drawing from pioneers such as Carl Jung\, Mary Whitehouse\, and Janet Adler\, we will examine the use of movement as both diagnostic and healing tool. Participants will be invited to experience how tuning into the body can awaken unfelt emotions\, foster inner connection\, and support therapeutic transformation.\nDance is not just expression—it is revelation. It is through the moving body that we learn to listen to what the soul longs to say. \nSUNDAY 18th MAY – 9pm CEST \nRegistration link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/2lDw35OdSdGa2c4BgkOJ2A

SUMMARY:IAGP WORKSHOP: Unfinished Healing: Tackling Lingering Effects of Trauma Post-Therapy.
DESCRIPTION:IAGP WORKSHOP: Unfinished Healing: Tackling Lingering Effects of Trauma Post-Therapy. \nBy Dr. Carlos Raimundo \nSummary: This webinar addresses the lingering effects of trauma that persist despite extensive therapy\, offering an innovative approach grounded in neuroscience\, Morenian principles\, and psychodrama techniques. It focuses on individuals grappling with personal\, generational\, or societal trauma\, aiming to enhance understanding of why healing remains incomplete and how to support transformative recovery. Key topics include differentiating trauma experiences from victim identities\, addressing outdated protective mechanisms\, and exploring J.L. Moreno’s concept of growth as a birthing process. It also highlights the role of the therapist as a metaphorical midwife in trauma recovery and a neuroscience-informed perspective on managing pain. Participants will engage with case presentations (excluding personal issues) and contribute to discussions\, fostering a collaborative exploration of trauma management. This webinar offers theoretical insights and practical tools\, encouraging constructive debate while equipping therapists with strategies to assist clients in achieving meaningful healing. \nSUNDAY 11th of MAY -12 to 2 PM CEST \nThe registration link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/NMu7rG9hREuU2S78cxLcaw \n\n\nAddressing trauma is one of the most critical forms of support therapists can provide. Everyone’s response to trauma is unique\, with experiences ranging from opportunities for personal growth to profound challenges that can feel insurmountable.\nThis webinar offers a theoretical perspective grounded in neuroscience\, Morenian principles\, and expressive techniques from psychodrama and the Play of Life. It focuses on individuals affected by personal\, generational\, or societal trauma who\, despite undergoing extensive therapy\, continue to experience lingering effects that hinder their well-being and struggle to achieve the elusive goal of freedom from trauma.\nParticipants will have the opportunity to present cases (excluding personal issues) to illustrate the theories and techniques discussed.\nWhile this approach may be seen as controversial by some professionals\, it is designed to provoke thoughtful exploration. Participants will be invited to provide feedback and share differing perspectives\, fostering healthy and constructive debate as part of this research into trauma management.\nTopics covered will include:\n• Experiencing Trauma vs. Living as a Victim: Differentiating between being a victim of abuse or neglect and adopting a victim identity\, with a critical examination of the term “Survivor of…”.\n• Leading Therapeutic Questions: Understanding the importance of remaining aware of leading the client and avoiding unintentionally planting ideas.\n• Evolving Protective Mechanisms: Recognising when protective strategies that were once beneficial are no longer needed and exploring their evolution.\n• The Morenian Concept of the Birth Process: Exploring J.L. Moreno’s insights into growth and transformation.\n• The Role of the Companion or Therapist as a Midwife in Trauma Recovery: Using the metaphorical role of the midwife to facilitate healing.\n• A Neurobiological Approach: Addressing pain and suffering through a neuroscience-informed lens.\nThis webinar provides a thoughtful and innovative approach to managing persistent trauma-related suffering. By combining theoretical insights with practical tools\, it fosters meaningful dialogue and equips participants with strategies to support those struggling with trauma’s lasting effects.

SUMMARY:IAGP WEBINAR - "I will let you be in my dream\, if you let me be in yours"
DESCRIPTION:IAGP WEBINAR – “I will let you be in my dream\, if you let me be in yours”\nBy: Konstantinos Liolios – Domenico Agresta – Carla Penna\n\nThe clinical use of dreams in group psychotherapy is pivotal and provides such a profound access to the most intimate aspects of the human psyche\, otherwise secreted in the oblivion of time. Aim of this webinar is to build bridges between theory and praxis\, exploring the wealth of transdisciplinarity and cooperativeness. A clinical material presentation will be followed by theoretical and practical considerations regarding the importance of unconscious input in group psychotherapy and the need for a safe and secure environment for the common pool of experience to be co-constructed. More specifically\, an excerpt of a group analytic session where three dreams have been offered to group’s Matrix (or maybe the unconscious dynamics of group’s Matrix have attracted these dreams) and the consequent free floating discussions in and of the group\, will provide the initial energy for reflections\, comments and further elaboration of the profound impact of work with dreams in groups.\n\nEmphasis will be put upon the need to showcase the spirit and thinking characterizing group analytic work\, by highlighting the interconnectedness of dreams and group associations within the group context. Additionally\, there will be a demonstration of the ideas about personal\, dynamic\, and foundation sub-matrices interplay\, within the most important ‘’energy field’’ of group analysis\, group’s Matrix\, the field where transference and countertransference constellations are co created and co developed. \nHopefully\, there will be a series of further events and webinars upon the use of dreams in group psychotherapy and group processes. Group analysts\, psychodramatists\, family therapists\, organizational consultants\, group psychotherapists\, experienced or not\, are very welcome to attend this webinar. \n\nSUNDAY 4th of May 7 to 9 PM CEST\nRegistration link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/fkWjy-9IR7ebym4yyakKLg\n\nSPEAKERS\nKONSTANTINOS LIOLIOS\, MD : Psychiatrist\, Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Group Analyst in Private practice. SUMMARY:Workshop - Integrating arts (poetry\, drawings) in Group Analysis
DESCRIPTION:WORKSHOP – Integrating arts (poetry\, drawings) in Group Analysis\nBy Marcia Honig \nThe encounter of persons in the Group Matrix is a meeting between different ideas\, feelings and fantasies\, with potential for growth and regeneration; but there are also destructive and traumatic forces in it.\nIn order to connect in a positive way\, we need to enlargeimprove the ways of communication in the Matrix.\nArt is inculcated into cultures\, it’s an Universal Language\, speaking directly to senses and thus to all humans.\nDuring this online workshop\, we will explore the interplay between Poetry and spontaneous-Drawing into Group analytic processes. As Plutarch said\, Painting is silent Poetry\, and Poetry is Painting that speaks.\nLet’s explore it inside Groups and discover\, through the creativity and the new colors which come up\, the new paths of constructive communication. \nSUNDAY 27TH APRIL – 9PM CEST \nRegistration link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/yqyaKnI0QaKdZ3aJOKZ72g

SUMMARY:IAGP WEBINAR: Navigating Boundaries in Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes.
DESCRIPTION:The IAGP Governance and Bylaws Committee invites group psychotherapists\, psychodramatists\, organizational consultants\, and other members to a webinar on the role of boundaries in group psychotherapy and processes.\nPresenters Marianne Wiktorin\, Ray Haddock\, and Kostas Liolios will discuss the importance of clear ethical guidelines\, while Esther Stone\, Roberta Mineo\, and Ana Maria Ruiz Sancho will provide reflections.\nEffective boundaries enhance safety\, trust\, and autonomy while minimizing harm\, but overly rigid boundaries may hinder therapeutic connections and exploration. \nThese insights apply not only to therapy but also to organizational work. Establishing healthy boundaries requires open communication\, supervision\, and self-awareness. As group therapy is a dynamic process\, maintaining ethical and effective boundaries demands continuous learning and adaptation. \nThe IAGP Governance and Bylaws Committee has long been committed to promoting these essential practices. \n\n\nAPRIL 6TH 7 to 9 PM CET\nRegistration link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/eJuWrNtwQ0ivTveGCb_egQ#/registration
