\nSocially Unconscious Processes of illusion and disillusionment in the aftermath of social trauma
\n<\/i><\/strong>
\nThe webinar explores the field in which the individual, interpersonal and social meet, emphasizing on social or collective illusions and disillusionments and their conjunction with socially unconscious processes.
\nSocial unconscious, inevitably, encompasses cultural narratives, historical experiences, and collective traumas that shape perceptions and expectations. In this context, groups and societies may create shared illusions to foster unity or maintain a certain image, such as ideals of success, safety, or moral superiority; these illusions often serve to protect members from uncomfortable truths about societal issues or group dynamics.
\nDisillusionments occur when the realities of social issues (e.g., inequality, corruption) clash with these collective illusions and can lead either to a transformative process where values and goals are reexamined or may create rifts within groups and societies, as differing responses to reality can lead to polarization.<\/p>\n

Understanding the interplay between illusion, disillusionment, and the social unconscious can help groups and societies navigate challenges more effectively. Frances Griffiths\u00a0<\/b>will present upon Brexit referendum and the inability to mourn,\u00a0Rezo Korintelli<\/b>\u00a0will reflect upon Social Unconscious and Group Psychotherapy in Georgia and\u00a0Yossi Triest\u00a0<\/b>will argue about personification and polarization within the foundation matrix of Israel.<\/div>\n

\nChair of the Institute of Group Analysis in the UK (2016-2019) and Management Committee member of the Group Analytic Society International between 2013 and 2016.
\nFollowing training to become a teacher I spent seven years as a teacher and examiner in adult education in central Africa. On return to the UK I moved into
\nspecial educational needs and management in education becoming an Associate Lecturer with the Open University, Lead Head of a School Consortia and Fellow of Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge University, before going on to train as a Group Analyst.
\nAs a Group Analyst I have previously worked with patients with complex needs in an NHS out-patient psychotherapy department and now in private practice I co-conduct two analytic groups: a Bereavement Group for the relatives and colleagues of medics affected by suicide, and a Leadership Group in which applied group analytic concepts are made use of to add value to the work of a team of educators and leaders in their field. I am also a clinical supervisor and teacher and have conducted group analytic work in Malta and Singapore.
\nI am Chair of Ethics of the Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis College and a Trustee of Doctors in Distress.
\nemail: francesjgriffiths@gmail.com<\/a>Revaz (Rezo) Korinteli<\/strong> PHD is a Psychiatrist, Jungian Analyst and Certified Group Psychotherapist, in private practice in Tbilisi, Georgia, with more than 37 years of experience . Professor at Ilia State University Tbilisi , Georgia. He has been leading groups since 1988 first in the department of Neuroses at Mental Hospital in Tbilisi and then in different organizations and settings. Since 2002 he have been working at St Camilo Rehabilitation Center as group Psychotherapist and leading two groups one for disabled and traumatized children and another -open group for outpatients. Since 2008 he has been lecturing on group psychotherapy at Ilia State University for Master Program Students .
\nPresident of Georgian Group Psychotherapy Association. Since 2010 he has been fellow of AGPA. Since 2020 is Board member of IAGP. My professional interests lies in the areas of Depth psychology, group psychotherapy, social unconscious and transpersonal psychology.

\nis a training analyst (IPS; IPA) and a clinical psychologist. He served as the president of the Israel Psychoanalytic Society from 2015 to 2017 and is currently the head of the \u201cFreud and Followers Unit\u201d at the Tel Aviv University Psychotherapy Program. Dr. Triest is also a faculty member at the Ph.D. program at Tel Aviv University Sackler Medical School. He teaches and supervises at the Israeli Psychoanalytic Institute as well as several psychotherapy schools. His professional interests focus on the intersection of psychoanalysis and group work. Since 1996, he has been actively involved in Group Relations (GR), as developed by the Tavistock Institute in London and OFEK in Israel. Since 2003, he has co-directed the Program for Organizational Consultation and Development (POCD). In 2018, he co-founded and has since served as co-director of the \u201cCenter for Research of the Psychoanalytic \u2013 Systemic Approach\u201d (CROPSA). In 1985, he founded the \u2018Triest-Sarig Clinic,\u2019 which he continues to co-direct, providing psychotherapy and psychological services to diverse communities in Tel Aviv, serving both adults and children.
