The IAGP runs international and regional congresses. This page outlines our recent and planned events, and includes links for obtaining further information.

As well as the IAGP's own events below, we also introduce the new IAGP calendar, featuring events of IAGP and its affiliated organisations.

Bullet 16th-21st July, 2012
Cartagena de Indias, Colombia
BETWEEN WORDS AND CULTURES - SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION:
18th International Congress of Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes

The IAGP's next international conference will be held in Colombia and will offer a unique possibility to get in touch with the most recent developments in group psychotherapy and group processes. It will focus especially on the topic of social transformation, putting emphasis on the vision of J.L. Moreno, S. Foulkes and K. Levin, to apply our competences also on the scale of social or collective groups. We invite all of you: researchers, educators, psychotherapists, students and other professionals from around the world and across borders to come together, to learn from each other and to hopefully grow in our professional and human dimensions.

Bullet 7th-11th May, 2012
Granada, Spain
TOTEM AND TABOO - The TRANSCULTURAL DIMENSION OF GROUP WORK
12th Summer Academy of IAGP

The Summer Academy establishes for the twelfth time a professional link between theory and practice of important approaches of group psychotherapy and group work at an international level: group analysis, psychodrama, Jungian analysis and group dynamic. The academy is organized under the auspices of the Educational Committee of the International Association for Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes (IAGP). The University of Granada (Institute for Peace) and the UNESCO (Andalusian branch) support its realization because of the professional, social and humanitarian value. Grants will be available for students from Israel, Palestine, Morocco and other countries.Dialogue is the key term for peace processes at a global level. Thus the summer academy is destined to create a living learning field for the quality, but also for the breaking points of multicultural dialogue. It will focus especially different models and strategies for mediating and resolving conflicts between and in groups. Granada as historic model demonstrates the chances of a peaceful coexistence between different cultures, but also its menaces and its fragility. The academy as the essence of a shared culture of the group is putting the ” tyranny of differences” of language, approach or culture into question.
